The museum has whole sections dedicated specifically for kids and has the "Junior ranger" program which gives them a simple activity book to do related to the museum information, ans they van earn a little pin. Lots of the exhibits are designed to be interactive for kids, with many tactile parts built in to make it relevant for them.
Not mutch. It's mostly information meant for older. Lots of hands on, but not sure it would hold his interest.
