The Wi-Fi on my 2017 MacBook Pro is absolutely worthless. I can’t pick up anything. Does anybody know of an external Wi-Fi antenna but will work on my Mac that actually works? Something that will actually reach out a half a mile and pick up Wi-Fi?

No laptop adapter is going to reach 1/2 mile, that is just not how it works. For that level of range you need a directional antenna hooked up to an ubiquiti access point, prefferably hooked up to another access point to retransmit WiFi to your Mac. And even then you need direct line of sight, a house or a few trees in the way and forget it.

You can try a Netgear usb anttena adapter. There are various you can try. Also look up mods that can help you get a signal that far.

I'm sorry, I can't help you on this question, I am not familiar with the MacBook Pro and it's capabilities.
