Yes, insurance covers most varicose vein treatment, and we participate with most major insurance plans. After a visual exam, Dr. Schwartz performs a diagnostic ultrasound, if he has reason to think you have varicose veins, as required by insurance. If you are diagnosed with venous reflux, which causes most varicose veins, insurance will usually cover treatment. Spider vein treatment, however, is considered cosmetic and not covered.
