Thanks for the excellent timely service with the insulation install in my home, Richard and the Koala team made the whole process so simple and easy. Communication, quoting, and execution of the work all went well. Did a great job cleaning up, I will absolutely use you for any future projects and I can really tell a difference in the temperature of my home!

Blown insulation in the attic.

Koala helped with efficiency work on an older home we just moved into. They installed attic insulation, attic vents, and a solar powered attic fan. They are CLEARLY knowledgeable, effective, and quick. My only critique is that they took a couple of weeks once they visited to send me an estimate and then schedule the work, which was a bit frustrating. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're just very busy. Other than that, they're great!

The entire team was quick clean and efficient they installed the solar powered attic vent and added and additional 10 inches of blown in fiberglass insulation bringing the entire attic up to a R49 rating. So hopefully now with that solar powered attic vent helping to keep my 1600 sq. ft. shallow attic cool as it automatically kicks on when it gets above 80 degrees or over 75% humidity. Time will tell but regardless the entire team @ Koala Insulation was fantastic.

Some important considerations are: - Immediate cost savings are not always the goal - Depending on how you currently use your AC system, solar fans can increase or decrease your AC usage - No exhaust or intake vent will work optimally without proper attic insulation
There are two commonly used types of blow-in insulation: - Fiberglass Insulation: By heating molten glass, tiny glass fibers are formed. This creates that fluffy, pink material most people think of when they think of insulation. - Cellulose Insulation: A composition of up to 80% recycled newspaper and denim. To make it safe for household use, it is treated with a fire retardant.
The attic insulation you’ll need is based on the recommended R-value for the state of Kansas. Blown-in insulation needs to reach a minimum R-value of 38. Blown-in cellulose and fiberglass are both great choices for attics. The only difference is the amount of material that may be needed to reach the correct R-value.
The most noticeable and inconvenient sign is increased energy costs. Without proper insulation, your HVAC system will have to work harder to get the desired results. Another problem has to do with comfort. An improperly insulated home will let in drafts and damaged insulation can give off unpleasant odors.
