Do they use insecticides? What is the best way to wash the fruit?

I believe they do and from what I remember the pesticides were water based so little wash under water will do the trick.

I add alittle white vinegar to my water, soak for 5 and kinds five a light scrub..

Every place like this will use insecticides... best is to wash the fruit in tap water b4 eating

Not sure about pesticides, but rinsing with water should be good. If you want to be extra careful, use a soft bristle brush.
