Can I locate the name of a guy who was original frogmen/udt on any plaques or lists at the museum? He trained prior to Ft Pierce being utilized. Believe it was an island off Maryland. I only know he was a member of a team of 5 men. 1942 to 1945.

When I visited the museum they have in exhibit logs from the first teams in Ft. Pearce. And also names of the first ones. I don't know if they have this particular team. My advice? Call them.

He was not KIA. He was in all theaters and on Omaha beach clearing the water from barriers. He went to Japan after the bombing but returned to US because his extended service was finally up. I just wondered if there was any mention of the very early udt team members. Unfortunately he has passed in 2005 so all the questions I would like answers to I cannot ask him. When alive he told unbelievable stories of his experiences during the war but not a great deal of details like dates and locations in the order they happened. He almost felt like he was still involved with clandestine operations. I hope to get to Tampa soon but was not sure if it was worth a trip to Ft Pierce if there is nothing to see that would be relative to his service. Thank you for your response.
