Coast guard won't let you dive in the inlet

No reason you can't. But it is a busy channel. Lots of boat traffic during the weekend. The whole inlet is a No Wake Zone until the start of the jetties. So if your in that area it could get nasty quick and the current is pretty swift. It's almost 45' deep in the middle and 5-7' on the other side of the markers making it a lot of water to move when the tide turns. If you do dive I would suggest during the week. Less traffic😉
