Never heard about GameStop would be closing at all. The only change this GameStop has ever went through is when it moved from the mall to their current location. I don't know what your source is but if anything in the area was going to close it would be in The Marion Star or The Southern or it'd be shown on WSIL. Anywhere else is just wanting to push out false rumors.
