Was just told by an Avis rep that Avis cars at MFR are only available to people flying into MFR. I can't rent one to drive to Portland and fly out of there. Is this correct? Or can I do the rent here, drive to Portland if I pay with a credit card?

Of course you can tell them to screw off tell them to call the store two blocks away and get you a car I've rented from both and never flown anywhere.

I have rented from them directly for a trip I took to California and back when my personal car was not suitable.
I had no issues.
