No, because there's no brushes that go in a circular pattern, so swirls are a physical impossibility with this wash!
Scratch paint? Generally no. The flappy curtains they use (I'm sure there's another word for this lol) seem to be less fluffy than those at other washes, so there's less of a chance that they'll hold rocks or sand from a prior wash. That being said, my newish (2019) car has some shiny black plastic trim pieces that seem to get shallow scratches VERY easily. I don't think there's really a way around this, other than maybe sealing those surfaces with a (ceramic?) compound or something.
