FHS is an open admissions shelter, meaning we cannot turn a Forsyth County dog or cat away. However, this means we are often at capacity for space. As an open admissions shelter, we are saving more than we ever did when we were "no-kill". We do currently euthanize for space, behavior, and medical reasons although we do out best for every animal. We should be the very last resort for a pet. Try reaching out to breed specific rescues, no-kill shelters, and adoptapet.com
