Well, I would say too much. I'm a mom, and I wouldn't take my 9 year old. My grown friends were scared and there was most certainly plenty of things that scared me on the ride. This event definately caters to adults.
Due to the intense nature of parts of some of the attractions at Boone Hall Fright Nights, the event is not recommended for children under 12. Children under 12 must be accompanied through the attractions by a parent or guardian in case the child becomes scared and decides he/she wants to leave. Please also be aware there are no refunds in case this occurs. The parent or guardian must pay for tickets to accompany their child.
I have a son the same age. We went last year and he absolutely loved it. It was pretty scary. I’d say it definitely depends on the individual child. There were other kids there but I think it’s really meant for ages 11+.
Our 9 year old likes the hayride but not the other attractions
