Is this open to the public? Can I come and walk around the outside area?

Yes to both. The indoors area is normally open to the public as well but there have been some restrictions during COVID

Yes, we our grounds are open every day from sunrise to sunset. The pond area is open only when a staff member is present during the week M-F 9am-5pm. The museum and bird observatory are currently closed to the public. We are planning to reopen the buildings on a limited capacity sometime this fall.
