There aren't really any trails or activities at Moma Gertie's, it isn't like a start park at all but with that said it is one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever seen or stayed at. We first stayed there last fall and liked Moma Gertie's so much that we booked our return stay for this October before we left. It's better as a base camp to explore the beauty of the surrounding areas.
Nice campground but better for strolling through the campground than hiking. Try Montreat for some nice hikes not far away.
The camp is hilly and has a small trail at the top level. Just walking the camp will be a workout. Great place
