NO CANCELLATIONS ALLOWED. We reserved for 5 nights and they took the entire sum upfront, $237. We had to cancel and they offered us NO refund and NO opportunity to change our reservation to a later date. No exceptions. This is despicable during a global pandemic when even airlines are more lenient and understanding of change in plans.

Great camp ground whether you RV or stay in one of the cabins or yurts. Very quiet and well maintained and staff are friendly and helpful

We just stayed here 2 nights. The campground is clean and well maintained. Laundry and bath house were also clean. Close to Black Mountain and Asheville. Very quiet campground.

Had a MORE than GREAT experience here this past Labor Day weekend :) Originally, I booked a site to just set up my tent out of the bed of my truck. Woke up from a nap after my 7-hour drive to a text from the campground saying that they were concerned about some heavy storms rolling in both Saturday and Sunday night so they upgraded me to one of their brand new safari tent sites. I really appreciated their customer service and safety concerns, especially coming from a solo female traveler. The bathrooms/showers were clean at all times. Wifi was a little hit and miss, but I had zero issues with cell service. I would definitely recommend this site to anyone and would love to stay here again.

Tent sites are $48 per night. They now have a 10 night max stay and no discounts are valid except active/retired military.
It is 10 minutes from Mama Gerties. From Mama Gerties Go across 40 to 70 make a right on Grove Stone Rd. Then right on East Side Drive and you should be able to see it. 150 East Side Drive Black Mountain And you should try Phil's BBQ It is right off 40.
Check directly by calling to verify if Mama Gerties offers monthly rates along with any rules they have. They do have nice showers & laundry facilities.
Yes, but I believe the sites near the stream do not have sewage hook up...Mama's is one of the nicest campgrounds we've ever been to.
Both are available at Mama Gertie's.
About ten miles. Its exit 59 off of I-40
Only one. But they have a parking lot a little ways away.
Sandra, we are unable to accommodate car camping or tents at this campground. I believe other campgrounds in the area allow it.
We have monthly rates in our off season which is November 1 to March 1. Throughout the rest of the year, the maximum stay is ten nights.
Not at all we stayed there for over week and did not experience anything like Woodstock . It was very peaceful and quiet
Likely not
They have a reservation system. Call and ask about the dates you want. Very nice place to stay at a fare price. Enjoy!!!!!
There aren't really any trails or activities at Moma Gertie's, it isn't like a start park at all but with that said it is one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever seen or stayed at. We first stayed there last fall and liked Moma Gertie's so much that we booked our return stay for this October before we left. It's better as a base camp to explore the beauty of the surrounding areas.
Mama Gertie's 1st and 2nd tiers are open year round. The 3rd tier (mountain views) close November 1st as do the tent and cabin sites. They reopen April 1st.

Mama Gertie's prices vary based on the type of site and location in the park. Camping fees vary from $46 - $100 per night.
There are no monthly rentals for cabins. The maximum stay in cabins is 14 days.
We loved Mama Gerties. Our site was at the top of the campground beautiful view just make sure your tow vehicle has enough power to pull up your trailer. We did but it's still steep. All of the sites seems nice.
