I would call...but the young chef Laura is working hard to offer delicious high quality foods ...I really treat myself when I go to CMA!!
Id say call them.
Food and drink are not permitted in the galleries, but you can bring a packed lunch and eat in the outdoor sculpture garden or non-gallery common areas, keeping in mind that many hallways and the central atrium have artwork and are technically "galleries." Also check the permitted bag sizes on the website if you're thinking of bringing a cooler, as you may have to check it at the front desk.
Since the sculpture garden is open to the public, and not just museum patrons, I think its totally acceptable to bring your own food. Employees are out there eating their packed meals so there's no real policy.
You are better off calling them directly
I'm not sure about yiur own food. I do know they have thier own restaurant in the museum. I qould probably contact the museum.
