I hopped on the bus, and took it from Market and back. It was quick and easy.
Getting there on Uber/Lyft is fine, but just remember EVERYONE will be leaving that way. Add that to the people that actually drove and it's going to be pretty congested. If you don't mind waiting 30-45 min do it. SEPTA is our version of MTA, CTA, DART, BART, etc. If you are staying close enough to the subway I would take the Broad Street Line from Girard when leaving.
Last time I was there, everyone ubered and it took almost an hour to leave. Pre-schedule a ride if that's the way you want to go.
Sure you can use Uber. Septa stands for The Southeastern Pennsylvania transportation Authority. When I went to the Met, someone dropped me off & picked me up; they didn't have any problems getting in or out.
