Stan and Shon Boney, along with Scott Wing and Kevin Easler, launched Sprouts out of Phoenix, AZ in 2002. They later merged with the Boney family's original chain 'Henry's' in 2011 which had been sold at one point to 'Wild Oats' in 1999, then bought by 'Whole Foods' in 2007, and then finally bought by 'Smart and Final/Apollo Management' that same year. In 2012, Sprouts merged with 'Sunflower' and then went public in 2013 as 'Sprouts Farmers Market'.
