I have used both 100lb tanks and a 250 pound tank for a gas heater. I contacted a local gas supplier and have a 250lb tank installed. I rent the tank and after doing the math it is the option that makes more sense then purchasing the tank. Mainly because if there is ever a issue with the tank I don't need to buy a new one. Plus it I is cheaper to have the larger tank filled then to deal with exchanging or transporting the two 100lb tanks.
