assalam alaikum, my grandson whom is 8 yrs of age asked me to show him how to offer salat, I was obliged to do so, i showed him how to offer Wudu first then we offered Dhur and Asr prayer. was i wrong for that?

You were not wrong, except if you combined without a valid reason. May Allah guide him and make him a blessing for the Ummah .

You can't offer them together unless you are traveling. But you can always teach him how to pray Masha Allah I'm glad he's wanting to know about Islam may Allah guide him ameen.
