Yes some proof of residence is required . Sometimes they might just give but would need proof for continue visits

Here are the requirements listed on our website, http://www.foodforgreaterelgin.org/get-help/: You must be a resident of Elgin, South Elgin, West Dundee, or East Dundee to receive our services. You must bring two forms of identification each time you visit showing your current address. Examples of accepted forms of identification include: Driver’s License, passport a utility bill, cellphone bill, credit card or bank statement, medical bill or mailings from the school district. You can provide electronic bills or statements on your cellphone, but they may not be more than 3 months old. You will need to bring your own bags or boxes for your groceries. You will be asked to sign a signature sheet agreeing that your household’s monthly gross income is within the guidelines established by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
