Hi - Now that My wife and I have a house with a yard, we really want to get a dog We love Siberian Huskies, but were warned that they are hyperactive and need to be walked 'miles per day'. Can you recommend any breeds that are more calm ? thx!

Go to a breeder directly. Pet stores who sell dogs, source them from puppy mills. Do your research.

A lab or Golden retriever! They are great family dogs, easy to train, minimal grooming and smart. Also a Border Collie is a excellent choice as well. We actually have all three of these breeds at Meridian Puppyland right now. The Golden Retriever that is there is super friendly and loving. He minds very well and knows a couple basic commands. Well..at least one..STAY and that's a good start!
