Yes I was in trouble for making a bomb threat to the ktik station so yeah you can send someone text but they can file for a protection order and if you violate then you wind up in jail I was very fortunate I got probation and after my protection order period I was let off the hook but I had to go to court and see the judge and it was not fun at all

Actually in Idaho it’s assault, if you the person receiving the threats believe the threats are credible.

According to the Boise Police they can threaten you through text messages they can threaten you over social media as long as they don't follow through with the threat it's perfectly legal here in Idaho as per the Boise Police to harass somebody and threaten them over text messages
