Both. They have a walk up window which is usually horribly slow (since each person has to ponder their seat selection) and a few self-serve machines inside which are the far better choice. Also, AMC doesn't let you use their stubs club with moviepass at the window but nothing stops you from scanning your card at the self service kiosk.
You can buy the tickets inside or you can pre-order the tickets in advance option I got a machine that you put self-serving machine where you can just go and buy the ticket and make it for any time any day you want
You can pay inside, but you probably won't get good seats if you come in just before the show starts.
