Kate, great question! Yes, gas fireplaces still require servicing annually. While gas appliances are pretty low maintenance and highly efficient, it’s a known fact that any appliance can become a problem if not maintained. The companies that make gas fireplaces recommend they be serviced and inspected by a qualified individual. During the service we not only clean the build up off the parts, pieces and logs if you have them, we will also inspect for gas leaks, carbon monoxide, blockages, and much more. If you have a chimney we will inspect it as well. You will be provided a document that details everything, a complete set of pictures and a work proposal if needed. Please call our office for a more details and schedule your appointment.

If a year has passed since service, I would recommend it.
