Yes. If you are really serious about this and you want to do it correctly, a breeder is the way to go. You might have to drive a bit to get to one. Do a Google search and read their reviews. Call them and talk to them. Any dog or animal you get from a store is the luck of the draw. You might be better served to check with the animal shelters, if money is also in the equation. At least they know more about their rescue animals than any store employee will. Personally, I would never buy a dog from a pet store. They way overcharge.
