The mine isn't Underground, as I thought it was. It's all outside. More like a quarry. Full of rocks and boulders, and I wasn't prepared. In the hot sun, and pounding on the Rocks is hard work and very hot. Well worth it, but we're hiking shoes or boots,. Next time I will bring my own tools as I found the Hammers were not big enough to make much progress. I also plan to bring a tarp for shade, and lots of sunscreen and water. You can work there all day as many people do under their own tarps. And you get to keep whatever you find. Just be prepared and you'll have a great time. Well worth it.
There is 3 areas of the mine to explore. All are outside with different types of terrain. You can bring any tools you want and keep anything you find for yourself. If by chance IF you find a large gem the office might buy it from you but it has to have great clarity and very unique in style as they have seen a lot. Go have fun the price is well worth the time!
There is a $10 fee to go in
Yes. The mine is open digging for all. You keep what you find.
The "mine" is the quartz shelf and out in the open, so no dangerious tunnels into the ground. And yes you keep all that you find. It is worth it.
