Online is the only way right now. However, the system only allows you to go 7 days in advance. Makes you appreciate the old inconveniences of dealing with the dmv. There are also boxes and forms at each location, there's no telling when they'll contact you.
Go online. We had to go online at exactly midnight to secure an appointment. Even that early there was only a fee available. Good luck.
