I'm under the impression there's no place in licking county for stray cats unless you go through a rescue. Anyone looking for help with stray cats might check with petsmart to be connected with one of their rescue groups. The dog shelter is funded by dog licenses which is why they don't take cats. The humane society has this wonderful center in Newark, but I believe they only take "owner surrendered" cats. I find that disappointing, that the Humane Society refuses stray cats. I've ended up doing full cat rescues on my own dime, keeping the cats myself or finding them good homes myself. It's worth it to me to save a life.
No they do not! I tried to take in a stray last January/February and they refused to even look at him.
Thank-you I'll call them tomorrow
Humane Society does if they have room. It's on Thornwood dr.
