Would you ask about price if the issue concerned a child? In cities today, Vet medicine for small critters anticipates that consumers wish to treat their critters like family. If you don't feel that way, then you don't need to buy into that mentality but you need to let your vet know how you feel. I've been taking my dogs and cats to Bear Creek since 1982. I don't think about cost. My concern is for the health of my critters. I have a large animal vet near the ranch where I keep my horses. They are substantially less costly then my city vet but they don't treat my animals like members of my family. They treat my critters like animals: A different approach to vet care. I think it's worthwhile for consumers to understand different treatment regimes and chose their vet accordingly. Neither approach is right or wrong, they're just different.
They're pricing is reasonable. I've been to cheaper but I've also been to more expensive. They are very patient with my dogs, who hate the vet, and take excellent care of them, and of me taking time to explain treatment options for my old guy, even suggesting cheaper, at home remedies for some of his ailments.
They are very good but normal pricing, they treat my boxer and my cat. Respectful and give you many options for teatment.
I found their pricing was very reasonable, cheaper than my old vet in Lodi; but Bear Creek has latest technology. I am on fixed income & the vet was totally understanding and listed the recommended items in order of importance.
I’d have to agree with the gentleman who said that it depends on whether you consider your pet to be of great importance to you “ would you ask for price if it were a family member? There’s cheaper of course . But I feel my pet is getting the best care possible and that’s the best I can do . My Yorkies are my second set of kids! They love me unconditionally and I think they deserve the best care , and I’m not rich! Plus I have to add , you will never meet a nicer and a more knowledgeable vet than Dr. Connie!
I'm sorry for your experience, Marisol, and hope your pet is thriving. It may be that specific services/treatments/prices may vary from vet to vet. I have found their prices for healthcare overall to be similar to what my local friends in Animal rescue pay to other Vets. There are, however, less expensive services that provide spay/neuter and microchipping. I credit Bear Creek Veterinary for thoroughness in investigating illness, and for helping us to keep our kitties alive and well for many years (including four born/lived feral until we tamed them). One of our cats lived to almost 22yo, and two ex-ferals now our tamed housecats are estimated to be 18-19yo, and another 14-25yo. Their groomer is able to groom one of our long-haired cats for summer-heat, and she rocks, too!
