I just transferred my plates and registration from NY to NJ. I recently got my NYS inspection done and am exempt for tints in NYS. Would I fail NJ inspection because of my tints and would it be possible to roll over the passed inspection I did?

You will pass in NJ no problem

Sorry, I wouldn't know. It's illegal to tint the front, and both front side windows in New Jersey. I don't think that falls under the jurisdiction of a car inspection. Just checked online. You're fine. They only check emissions now.

As of right now NJ only does emissions but depending on the inspector they may consider tint a safety violation. I have tinted windows 20% front doors and 5% on all rear windows and I passed. Hope this helps you.
