They'll get metabolic bone disease and can can end up paralyzed woth multiple painful fractures from lack of CA++ . Even the best UV lights are not enough exposure for D3 production. An outside cage setup with screening can be good. Same with cahed birds
Also the nutrients go.on the lizards food. Crickets mealworms and in some cases flora. We have never used it and our four different species are fine. I believe its a hustle.
