Reached out to Meriden Humane society to attempt to help abandoned expectant cat: they were not helpful at all. Told us to call animal control. Thanks for the help. Hope that my yearly contribution of hundreds of dollars went to good use.

Animal control is better equipped for dealing with possible infected animals. Human society just gets them ready for homes. As far as I know.

they are all volunteers doing the best they can, they refer to animal control because that's what animal control is for
