Would you work there??
That being said, Lori, wouldn't it make more sense to cross-train employees to be cashiers as well, especially when checkout lines are very, very long? I'm pretty sure this particular store could be much more efficient.
Miss lipkind, when I go to a store and pay for a product, that product pays for the people to run the registers so unless the stores want to pay me for doing self checkout then I want a register with a trained employee
Ok, having worked for them, people are hired specifically to run register if you are hired for anything else floor person, receiving, stock, you are not trained on register
The Corporation, like many others; (Stop & Shop, Home Depot, Shop Rite, Quick Chek, and so on) wants to save money by having the customers work for free. Robots take the place of humans and the customer works for free with no pay or benefits - and....has no human interaction experience. What happens if the customer is injured while working for zero wages? Do we have to stock shelves next?
Management need to put together a structured frame work for the entire store that will improve Walmart employees motivation, customer service desk, and over all employee attitude. Training to enhance floor operations are a must with a focus on good employee evaluations that drive level s of enhanced and career dedication.
I know sometimes it's actually ridiculous and then those self checkout lines gets so backed up because there is no other place to check out
This has been going on for years. I think they should make it completely self checkout except maybe the cashier in the electronics department, or hire people to run the registers and not just stand around. Looking pretty
think about this if you're in line waiting you see someone has milk in there cart and u say o shoot I forgot I need milk too now u leave the line to go get milk and u pass a clearance ASILE and pick up socks too now u just made 2 more purchases because u were waiting in line
Wal-Mart doesn't need us, you need them. They train customers to do all the work, therefore less employees. Think about it.
I shop online. Quick deliveries. Just spend 35 or 40, which is easily to do. Plus, online shopping immediately tells you if products are available instead of going to the store only to find out something is NOT available. Of course, fresh food products you can call ahead and get curbside pickup. Saves a lot of time and gas.
They are paid to stand there probably because of theft they have alot of self check out machines
