If there is lightning within an eight mile radius, the park will close until we have been lightning strike free for thirty minutes. It is open when there is rain only. We recommend checking the radar and visiting www.CityOfNorthPort.com/Weather before you leave to see if we have any active alerts. There are rain checks available if the weather is expected to significantly impact your visit. Please call us at 941-429-PARK(7275) if you have more questions.
The park closes only if lightning strikes within 10 miles. During the fall (September and October) the water park is open only on the weekends (and some holidays) from 1pm-7pm. All flotation devices must cover the chest in some way. Arm floaties alone would not be allowed, but something like a Puddle Jumper or life jacket would be. (These are provided free of charge if you do not have your own.
It does close if there is lightening in the area. No rain checks The water park has special August hours 10a to 8p. And yes arm floaties are fine.
