The Indian Ladder Trail has a rule on its sign that says Do Not Walk Barefoot. Does anyone know why??

Limestone. The area is mostly made up of exposed limestone bedrocks which can be quite sharp, and generally, it's a good idea to wear shoes on any trail to prevent falls.
