I don’t mean to be a jerk, but didnt you look at them before you bought them? You can get bad food anywhere. That is why they are in bags or containers that you can see through. As a consumer, it is pretty hard to be upset if you didn’t take the time to do your due diligence. You should be checking your all food you buy from produce to bread to meats.
This happens sometimes at any grocery store. I have never had a problem getting reimbursement from Sam's club in my 25 years membership.
Keep your receipt to return it anywhere. Most won't make you but if you have a receipt you can buy it in NY and they will give your money back in all states, without they can refuse to or give you a gift card at their discretion. I've never had a problem with food items, they've refunded my purchase from NC in LA. Hope this helps.
@randi sands, I used to work for sam's club and there's really no reason for the produce worker to not check for mold. So, no, it's not really on the customer. Moldy food should never be brought to the sales floor in the first place.
You can take it back to sams. I cut open a watermelon, cut it into slices and stored them in ziplock bags. When i was done I tried a piece and it was disgusting. I took it back in the ziplock bags. With receipts. They gave me a refund.
That happened to me at Publix. Chalked it up to hidden inside the bag
I agree
Cantaloupe has the same problem. Al fruits they cut go bad fast.
Call first so you don't waste gas
The truth
I called Walmart. No go
I've had similar experiences with their produce, sometimes it seems like they're refrigerated then left out.
Try taking it to Walmart with the receipt. Since it is the same company they may honor it. Not sure.
