Number one , dogs DO NOT have monthly cycles. Number two a dog can go into heat twice a year, usually once in the spring and again in the early fall. Some breeds are reported to only go into heat once a year. I hope that one day we will stop the current nutering and spayed procedure and do laparoscopic procedures. Less invasive and leaves hormones and testosterone levels so our furry family members can develop fully.
