There could be many reasons for this issue. Obvioulsy it heat is collecting and airflow is not circulating enough to bring down the temperature. Driving habits can also play a part. These cars originally were not too often driven at the speeds we drive today for long periods of time and they also did not do well when sitting in traffic. Furthermore the fuels of yesteryear were more reslilient to the heat then the ethenol mixed fuels of today. The soultion to get your car more reliable is something we deal with on a case by case basis based on your particular car and your drivig goals. If could range from a heat sheild, to adding an additional electric fan to your radiator, to simply adjusting the timing, or other things. If you would like us to take a look at it please give us a call.
