Best to ask the police department how much they'll fine you. You have to look up the cost of temporary permits on the DMV website. I think it's anywhere from $15 - $50 depending on what type of permit and how long it's good for.
Not sure but going to their website and seeing on their page to see how much you can always call and go through their automated system
