Because the theater only gets less than 10% of ticket sales. So a movie theatre has to make its money from concessions. Blame the movie studios, not the theatres
So the movie theaters can make a huge profit! We all know popcorn is cheap. Of course the boxes of candy are 1/4 full and equally pricey. They aren't our friends. It's just a business.
Other movie theater popcorn price is $3.50 to five dollars ... the cheapish popcorn was $8 dollars and kids special was $7 dollars and I didn't even ask how expensive the Soda was...never going back
