I am purchasing a vehicle that belonged to a friend of mine who is now deceased.
I have the title which was signed by his wife.
Do I need to bring a copy of his death certificate when I come to DMV to transfer the title into my name?

Possibly who ever is in charge of his property(wife?) Could add you to title and remove his could be easier. ? This also works for homes or anything you want to leave someone.
