You need your current ID plus your current SMUD or PG & E bill. You go into the office, if it's your first time, and show them proof of income. They will enter you into the system. If you have others that live with you, you will need their current ID. They usually give you a lot of bread, canned goods, pet food if you need it. Eggs if they have them, sometimes meat or fish. They do have baked goods on the table as you leave as well as bouquets of flowers. The clothes closet is right next door so hook that up in the office. You can go once a month. It might be too late to sign up for the Thanksgiving Turkey. In December they usually have paper bags with coupons from Bel Air. A free gallon of milk, fresh produce & some other stuff. If you talk to them about transportation they might know someone who can help you. They open at 10:00 a.m. Get there early for the baked goods. There is a limit. Usually fresh produce of some kind too.
Id and your feet more if you have a address. It's ashame these facilities get some of the most amazing donations. For some reason they seem to think they know what you need. Instead they should trust the individual to pick what they need and take a copy of there id Everytime. don't register the individual. Maybe have could deliver to individuals who can't transport there food for lack of transportation. Food banks are really for the poverty stricken. The definition of poverty is not having the money to buy the resources needed to live. America sustains the life of an automotive better than human.
