The first part of the tour is guided and involves a short film. After the film a family member will do a short question and answer session. After that is over there is another small section of display in which the guide tells you some facts and then the rest is self guided. The guided part of the tour is probably about 30-35 minutes. After that it is what you make of it.
We recommend around 90 minutes for the entire experience. The tour begins with a 20 minute introduction, followed by a 14 minute film. There's then a brief intro to the artifact display and then you can explore at your leisure.
I would just wing it. Its one of those where you can just wander around.
And my two cents is the tour actually took about 30 to 40 minutes. But I think we were there for about 2 hours total. There is tons of amazing stuff to look at and we had a blast!
I personally did not take the tour . I did watch others take the tour , it appeared to last approximately 25 minutes .
