How do the engine classes work? Do you do them by size, horse power or what?

The classes that vary based on driver age and horsepower. Kids as young as 5 race a small 2 stroke similar to a weed eater engine. One of the more popular classes across all age groups is Briggs Lo206 which is a spec Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke. Very reliable and low cost. Fastest classes are 125cc 2 stroke engines that can run as either sequential shifting *shifter" class or fixed gearing TAG. Roughly 30hp. The club will have a display at the upcoming World of Wheels show. Great opportunity to stop by, check out the Karts and learn more about the club. 2019 schedule is on the KC Karting Association web site. Things get going again in Late March with some test and tune days. There is also info about pre-owned Karts for sale there.
