If you like crowds or the beauty of colorful landscapes spring time is best for you, in winter you'll be a little disappointed, the zoo itself is still beautiful. It's always hit or miss with the animals in outdoor enclosures but the indoor exhibits are often good all year round. Guess it really depends on your own tolerance or enjoyment of walking a bit in cold weather.
Less people but also less animals
Not really, is too cold and not much to see
Definitely worth it. Fewer school trips to contend with, plenty of indoor exhibits, and as mentioned earlier, more access to zoo personnel.
On a nice day or semi nice day in the winter it's a really good time.
Great, no crowds, plus a lot of the animals are more active in the winter time. And you get some access to some of the zookeeper's and you get a lot of information from them I really suggest you tried in the winter I've done both I've enjoyed both but the winter is a little more intimate
Yes there are still all the animals and things to do
No wait until spring
