I have phone service with Assurance wireless it expires on 9/21/17 I would like to switch to Saflink . it's set up on my food stamps. Anyone know how I go about changing

I just got a new. Phone. From safe link. The battery. Was damaged it wouldnt fit right because it was swollen. Wouldn't even. Power up the phone!!!
