Friends and I are planning to go for a little road trip. How is this place at the end of September? Water too cold? Too windy? Maybe not a good idea? We plan to camp out. Or maybe get a cabin/hotel? Thank you.

Watch out for flooded roads too getting down there, you might have to drive thru or be rerouted to get where you want to go

It really does depend as you know SD weather can be unpredictable. I'd say go ahead, that's not too far away and the weather hasn't been awful.
