Except for the fact that the Gardens close at 6 p.m.

There's a great view of the Regatta, follow the boardwalk to the little jetty and you can be right on the waterway beach. If you go further along the boardwalk you have views along the way or you can cross over to another beach... The gardens might officially close, but the gates will auto open on exit.
