Way too hot in Raleigh in August and September to hold a fair.
The October dates allows the farmers to get harvesting competed ( so we can see the huge pumpkins + other produce at the exhibit halls ). Plus, yes the cooler fall temps are much appreciated. See you at the fair. Secret hint -- get some of the NC State dairy fresh icecream-- it is awesome!!
